What made you join SpaceHey?

As someone who was a kid in the early to mid 2000's I was too young to actually have a Myspace but still old enough to witness people older than me use it. It always seemed so cool to me and I was jealous that I never got to live out the peak Myspace days. When I learned about Spacehey I was thrilled to see a social media site exist that replicated that old Myspace feel, and I've also been so over Instagram for so many years, it felt like the perfect opportunity to live out my childhood fantasy of having a Myspace and also be part of a niche and developing social media platform. I love how it's not so well known (yet), and how everyone seems genuinely interested in getting to know new people online and sharing their interests. It's so much more fun than Instagram.

As people who might've actually been conscious during the Myspace days, I'm curious to hear what other adults think about the platform and why ya'll joined! <3

I wanted to be on a platform not smothered in AI, and I found out about this platform shortly after a night with a friend talking about how Myspace would be better and that I would have enjoyed it more. Now I'm here checking it out/trying it out for a bit!

i found a youtube video talking about "indie social media" and this was one of them. i do like the layout and how customizable profiles can be, but i havent quite yet figured out how to do all that cause i joined like yesterday.

i also thought this could be a place to actually find people online to connect with but i havent had any luck so far, and im not sure how to start, like how do you get people to find your profile, just by randomly discovering it?

Lately I've felt like the internet has turned into this sole less industrial factory that can only seem to manufacture slop. I think the constant need for connection and convenince has done more harm than good, including to myself.

I can’t remember exactly why,

I just like old internet and liked it since I could remember,

Even as someone who had a childhood in the 2010s rather then the 2000s, barely lived in that decade, born in 2005.

feels like when i post on other modern social media sites most of the time it never gets any real human interaction, honestly the exception ive had is tiktok. i like when i interact or post here it actually gets seen by real people. and i love customizing my profile exactly how i want it

this website seemed nice and i've never had myspace so i was interested in using a social media with more customization and more of a focus on interacting with people, since most social medias nowadays are very competitive and algorithmically based.
