I am visiting my family in Poland ALONE (rip) and will be travelling around a bit like to Prague and Budapest but I will be in Poland for around two months. I wil go insane if I'm stuck by myself with my family like theyre cool but i don't really have anybody to talk to my age. i wanna make friends online to possibly meet up IRL but all the websites i can think of are reddit and facebook which is full of old people. i'm really scared of getting groomed. how do i even meet people that i can hang out with without it being an old man

Hostels are your best friend!!! You would be surprised how many people will just start a conversation just by hanging out in a common area or even in the dorms.
Not sponsored at all I just really like it, but HostelWorld puts you in a group chat with other travellers in the hostel and city so it’s a really great way to meet new people and make plans.
If you aren’t keen on dorms, get a private room at the hostel, or you can just hang out at them. The amount of times I’ve gone for a pub quiz or pub crawl at a different hostel is insane, nobody cares if you actually stay there.
Don’t overthink it and it’ll be a breeze :)

Unfortunately I have no tips (I'm paranoid and anti-social as hell) but I'll comment to keep up on updates I can use during a future trip abroad. Hoping Japan will be my first and I intend to meet a lot of new people.
