How to lower the opacity of only the background image?

im making a layout for a friend and i wanna lower the opacity of main background but when i do it everything's opacity lowers (like in the picture) i couldnt find any spacehey tutorial about it i tried everything i can but i cant fix it is there a way can i fix it?
