Can someone explain what this "web3" business is?? lol soz for the y'know, lack of knowledge, I just hope this community isn't like reddit and won't make fun of me not knowing :P

Web3 was the idea that blockchain, crypto, NFTs and similar things are the future of the internet, replacing Web 2.0 of social media sites. It was popular in like 2020-21 with the same people who now promote generative AI instead. Either way it is all garbage
