it’s so funny to look back at how protective groups were over their specific shade of balloon. like if a rookie group debuted with a colour that was even slightly close to a senior group, the fancafes would literally go into war mode.
i was reading up on the "pearl" era and it’s so specific. like you couldn’t just have "green" you had to have pearl aqua (shinee) or pearl light green (ss501). or how shinhwa fans (shinhwa changjo) were the absolute gatekeepers of orange to the point where they had beef with ikonic years later, lol.
and don’t even get me started on the "red" situation between tvxq and.......... basically everyone else. the commitment to defending a hex code was honestly kind of scary back then.
so my question for you guys: if you were a 2nd gen idol/manager, what would your "unique" colour name be to avoid a fandom war? like what specific word would you add to a colour to make it yours (e.g. "metallic" or "pastel" or "baby")? let me know~
