typology, applied in real life.

hello, everyone.

in this topic, we'll share how we attempted to apply our knowledge of various typology subjects into our daily lives, and into scenarios/dilemmas/situations that required us to use typology.

keep in mind, i am in no way shape or form an expert in typing others, so if i make any mistakes, feel free to correct me. i'll probably add this to my list of suggestions for typing people better.

i will start:

when i used to work in a factory not long ago, i noted the following when it came to some of my coworkers.

1. my supervisor's habits, behaviour and authoritative figure matched that of either ESTJ or ISTJ. why? he prioritized his numbers and interacted with everyone in a calm and orderly fashion, rather than lashing out at others. this pointed to me either Si and Fi being used.

2. one of my coworkers was well liked, and was at the plant a bit longer than i was. he was charismatic, deep thinking and enjoyed semi-camaraderie, possibly as a defence mechanism at work. he was either ENFJ or ESTP. this was due to his use of Fe and Ni. he knew that he wouldn't stay at the plant for long. he wanted to leave for a better job. his charisma was either Se influenced or Fe influenced. looking back at it, i couldn't tell.

3. the older co-workers mostly behaved pragmatically or with little interaction mostly behaved as ISTP. they said things matter of factly and didn't really care of the consequences due to their seniority. this tells me Ti and Se were in place. they interacted with other veterans with a semblance of camaraderie that i was often on the short end of the stick of.

4. the instructor that i knew, was most likely INTP or ENTP. he wasn't massively eccentric, but he had ambitions in rearranging the plant floor to ensure a better workflow. he was also easygoing and fair with others. his usage of Ti in explaining how certain machines worked helped me understand quickly in how to operate it and get it out of the way.

to be fairly honest, my productivity was only hampered by repeated strain of my right shoulder muscle. otherwise, i would've most likely completed the contract. either way, it was a temp job. i took no offense other than being comfortable with it.

so, how did you (or a friend) applied typology irl? feel free to share. or don't.
