I Feel So Drained With Social Media Apps

There was a time when it felt like you could make friends on the internet. But for the past three years I've been completely alone with not a single meaningful connection in my life. The constant silence has been eating away at my self-confidence and I don't know how much longer I'll last. I feel as though nothing I do contributes to anything, a voice that will silenced from the world.

hello.. i exactly feel like you. the internet is beautiful, but at the same time strangly weird. the algorithms of modern socials are just to hook us up to them, just to mindless scroll, until we eventually give up on our critical thinking, so we can be puppets to society. but! WE WONT LET THEM TAKE OUR MINDS, the best way to do so is to stay as far away as we can from the modern socials, because they are genuinely evil. take care of you please.

the modern internet is bleh and lame nowadays :p

i'd say after it became more corporate in 2017 that it's just been downhill since, then AI came in and made it a billion times worse ._.

I can relate. I created my account here mostly because I want a more healthy alternative to Twitter (the previous social media of my choice). That site really impacted my mental health for the worse the last few months I used it, and made me miserable.

Something else that has really impacted the internet has been the closure of Adobe Flash back in 2020. There are still ways to play Flash Media (preservation projects like the Ruffle Emulator and Flashpoint), but it basically rendered a bunch of old websites unusable.

I'm so sorry! I feel exactly the same way about my social media experience. I hope you find the meaningful connections your heart desires.
