old rockstars.

why is it that when old rockstars or old icons overall make new music, make concerts, etc, they just get a ton of hate for it? or just critics. for example, axl rose obviously isn't the same but, whenever the band does concerts, i just see memes that shame him for being different or older instead of just appreciating the effort or the music.
