my own website (question)

i really want to purchase a domain and code my own website just as like a cool little personal side project but i honestly don't know the first thing about how to manage a backend. like. idek how one connects a host to a domain or uses a json file or ANYTHING. does anyone have any good resources or tips?

I host my own website. i use github to host my files and my domain is through squarespace. create a github repository and upload all the code for your website on it. then you can probably find a tutorial on how to link the repository to your domain (its been so long i dont remember how to do it). everytime you update your website, just reupload the files you edited and theyll be replaced. as for json, im not sure brcause i havent used it
