I know this reply is rather late but if you are still interested in learning C, one of better books on the matter I read is [C programming for the absolute beginner]. It's a good book if you are completely new to programming. Another great book is K.N. Kings C programming a modern approach, albeit, it's a bit on the lengthier side but also explains things really well and mentions a lot of useful concepts the first book doesn't mention
