Visually, I absolutely loved it. If thereโs one thing these films consistently achieve, itโs making you feel like youโre actually there, as if at any moment you could step right through the screen and set foot on Pandora yourself.
I do wish they had explored Varangโs story and the Ash People in greater depth. But at the same time, I understand how difficult it is to fit the full history of an entire clan into a single film without it turning into a seven-hour epic. Still, it would have been nice to learn more about them, to get a deeper sense of who they are beyond what we were shown. I also would have enjoyed seeing more of the Tlalim clan, although I imagine thatโs something theyโre saving for a future installment.
There are also those small, meaningful details I found myself wanting more of. Seeing more about Rotxo and Ronaldโs funeral, for example, or getting a clearer, more formal progression in Loโak and Tsireyaโs relationship. Little moments like these might seem minor, but they add so much emotional weight and richness to the story.
And while I understand the criticism that the film can feel like a repetition of the previous ones, with the constant conflict against humans and Eywa always stepping in to help, I actually think that reflects something very real about human existence. Life often feels like an ongoing cycle of facing the same enemy over and over again, fighting similar battles in different forms.ย
Overall I think it was a great movie. I'm really excited for part 4.ย
