Here are some dos and don'ts :)
DO start small, just singles is 100% fine
DO use elastic string
DO use more string than you think youll need (if your bracelet's too loose, it'll fall off and someone else gets a surprise gift. if it's too tight, you lose circulation.)
DO use pony beads if you want to make typical kandi
DONT use beads with symbols you dont know the meaning of (some of them mean "i am a drug dealer" or "i support this evil youtuber")
DONT wear anything that hurts you
