VKEI makeup tips and alternatives to products

I wanted to hop on and give some of my makeup tips and tricks that I wish I was taught when I first got into visual kei makeup ^u^

feel free to share any of the tips you know or if you have any questions on something I haven't mentioned!

Baby powder instead of setting powder:

it is defiantly a lot cheaper and it also helps with making you paler if thats a look you wish to do for. I haven't had any issues with using it. I haven't brought setting powder in over a year.

Foundation not the colour you want:

mix eyeshadow into it, add white to make it lighter, red to make it more warm tone, blue for cooler tone, and yellow to make it more neutral.

No face paint:

mix colourful eyeshadows into a thicker base concealer or foundation

Sticking accessories:

use lash glue, no need for those overpriced glues, lash glue is safe to use all over the face however remember it can be quiet difficult to get off.

No eyebrow look without glue:

use eyebrow gel or hair gel, flat it down and let dry (I add hairspray too). And then do concealer and lots of powder on top. I repeat the process of a few times to make use it's not visible. Ivermectin noticed that with baby powder, the base doesn't peel or get caked when I put concealer over it.

Drawing bottom lashes:

draw triangles (sorta isosceles triangles) pointing towards the edge of your face rather than straight down.

Make eyeshadows pop more:

do a thin layer of concealer on the area that you're going to put eyeshadow on in order for it to stick better and make the colours show more. with some eyeshadows, I have found it helpful to use a wet brush to apply it because it intensifies the colour.

Face paint or base product dry too quick:

if the product dry too quickly on your face and you feel like you don't have enough time to blend it out try using a damp beauty blender.

No setting spray:

I personally use hairspray as it hold super well however if you have sensitive skin or acne DO NOT USE, it can cause breakouts and dry the skin due to harsh chemicals.

Running low on eyeliner, mascara or lipgloss:

 add some contact lenses solution

No budget for lots of products:

eyeshadow is amazing because it's so multi purpose. You can use it to draw on ur face, replaces lipstick, replaces eyebrow polmade, contour, blush, highlighter and you can also use it as setting powder. I think eyeshadow if defiantly a must!!

Running low on makeup products:

You can actually remove the stopper on most liquid makeup products. make sure to do it safely, but i usually use tweezers to pull the stopper out and you find so much hidden product.

Fall out when using eyeshadow:

use concealer as a base and aim to do your eyeshadow as a first step and work around it.

Contact lenses:

just a reminder to wash your hands really well before inserting them and putting them in BEFORE your makeup as it can cause infection and irritation otherwise.

Thats all I write for now but if you want to know more feel free to message me, remember makeup is all about creativity and expression.
