maybe i'm not looking in the right places, or i'm too old (22 haha) but i miss how easily it was to connect and form meaningful relationships with other ppl who shared the same interests as you. it feels like nobody wants that anymore. it's all about looking a certain way or having clout in order for ppl to find you interesting and want that proximity to you. it's superficial and draining

Literally SAME. I was hoping this place would be popping off when I made my account, although I did have a blast creating my profile, although it's simple.

for real. like what happened to just having fun and expressing yourself? i get it that some people want to look good, i mean i spent forever editing my profile (and still am), but i'm doing it for me, not necessarily anyone else. it just feels so hard to find people in your community. hopefully this place will get a little more traffic and active users (or i'm just looking in the wrong spots on here) and it can happen a little easier.

Agreed! I think people do want it, but are too scared to be the change they want to see- so they come off as closed off, or they do not seem as online as others. I find the superficial and draining crowd stays away from me, since I am just in between 'too normal' and 'too weird' for a lot of online groups. It's hard to find your people, but I'm sure you'll get there <3 fellow 22 year old here, though, so I do get it and miss the old internet. I wish it were easier to connect without the constant barraging of bots!

Ooor eventually some idiot joins in to a peaceful forum talk, who - despite they weren’t included to begin with - starts arguing with the people who are talking.
Many many people are totally unable to cope with the fact that ppl aren’t the exact same…
But I miss random talks too. I remember finding local Sonic fans and I was like waoooow
Also…if you’re old, then I’m digging my grave

this site sucks it's either filled with bots, young teenagers complaining about their melodrama that I don't want to hear, or just people posting the same repetitive or boring things I've seen already.
but advanced user search could help greatly if it were brought back because I could potentially find someone with similar interest, age etc instead of scrolling through hopelessly. I could finally confirm whether that person exist or not on this site. I just made a blog about it.
