Why does the world seem to not be getting any better?

The world is not getting any better. Wars are everywhere. Evilness spreads. People start shifting into their own believes, they start hating on each other and the world is in chaos. This too is stated in the Bible. 

2 timothy 3:1-4 NIV 

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God

Matthew 24:6-7 NIV 

6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

Ephesians 6:12 NIV

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

At the end of the world, God promises 

a new heaven and a new earth, where he will live with his people in a restored world free from suffering, pain, and death. Believers will be reunited with God, and those who are victorious will inherit a new life in a holy city called the New Jerusalem. 

Revelation 21:4 NIV 

4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
