i made a music survey that still gets replies here 3 years ago and it kinda sucks but i still love music and talking about it so here's some new questions! making it up as i go again so it might feel kinda random

Gezebelle Gaburgably, 1. her songs are too harsh, 2. cover 'incel' topics 3. are too samey. 1. Some of her songs are harsh and have lots of effects by others are slow and sound really nice (see: the Fridge), 2. Definitely a lot do, thats why her community is so balls, I mainly listen for the music and only some the themes, also her newer music has been much better, 3. Again, her older albums were a lot worse than her newer ones and I think she's better at mixing it up now

and last but not least
50.  what is the appeal of your favorite genre to you? what elements of it do you like?
Idk really, I think the way it sounds and the themes of some of the songs

A lot of the lifelover fanbase is extremely annoying and pretentious. I also can't really stand most of Happy Day's fanbase, & a few HIM fans (more so directed at the tiktok HIM fanbase)

Raw and emotional. I like it when I can relate to music on a deeper level and what does that for me is the sounds/instruments used and themes within its lyrics (if any). I coordinate different songs, sounds, genres to the current mood I am in/experiencing

okay so here goes!

i LOVE Filipino music, and it's a no-brainer that my favorite local band is Silent Sanctuary, considering that their songs are just so good.....

2. favorite band that stands out compared to your usual taste?
i don't really listen to a lot of mxmtoon, but whenever i do, her songs are soo nice to listen to, even if my usual songs consist of more upbeat and lively melodies hehe

does Malice Mizer count? i mean, they have a YouTube account, but they've split like, 25 years ago or something

4. favorite split? 
im so sorry twin i dont got one :'-)

Shinwa by Malice Mizer...my favorite band member was Kami and when i discovered that Shinwa was dedicated to him, i cant help but love this EP

6. favorite concept album?
IM SO SORRY AGAIN I DONT KNOW :'-D does Merveilles count? they have like, a main theme i guess?

7. favorite feature on a song?
holy cow its gotta be the high notes Tetsu was hitting during his song Baroque from Malice Mizer, that part of the song scratched my head for DAYS

8. favorite cover? 
La Mentira cover by Luis Miguel (the most popular cover lol but yk how it is, its popular for a reason bro)

9. favorite sample?
ONCE AGAIN! Baroque by Malice Mizer takes the cake! Their instrumentals sampled Fur Elise by Beethoven and goodness gracious did it sound like i was being taken to heaven

10. favorite interpolation?
haha...did i mention Malice Mizer? idk if it counts but i feel like Aegen is an interpolation of Vault of Heaven, made by the same band but sung by different singers AND are different songs

11. favorite subgenre?
i feel like Tanbi Kei would be my favorite subgenre, i love their music and their fashion sense! idk if Tunog ng Maynila (Manila Sound) counts as a subgenre but i'll put that out there if you're interested XD

12. favorite less-commonly used instrument?
boy do i LOVE the Kulintang and the Gamelan! Both instruments are similar, they're brass gongs! their only difference is that the Gamelan is from Indonesia while the Kulintang is from the Philippines :-)

STILL Malice Mizer and Silent Sanctuary, i love them both equally<33

my favorite non-english songs ARE my favorite songs! 14 by Silent Sanctuary and Kioku To Sora by Malice Mizer

unfortunately i only know ONE song, Bebot by Black Eyed Peas, since one of their band members, apl.de.ap is half Filipino yeah! Bebot's lyrics are 99% Filipino hehe

Vault of Heaven by Malice Mizer, i didn't even know they had english lyrics in the song! it took me like, 6 repeats just to understand that they were saying autumn somewhere in the lyrics </3

Baby Hotline by Jack Stauber has to take the cake, since i REALLY thought he was talking about mangoes getting cold ToT his LINE is getting cold

Spolarium by Eraserheads was about an actual crime that happened in the Philippines allegedly committed by three famous comedians at the time, which was a HUGE deal because it was considered controversial due to heavy censorship

its gotta be You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift, its just so iconic and i still remember what it looked like XD

for me personally, falling in love is EXTREMELY hard for me, and now Smooth by Santana, Kundiman by Silent Sanctuary, and While You Were Sleeping by Laufey helped me AT LEAST relieve some of that pain

TACHIAGARIYO by T-Pistonz really takes me back to Inazuma Eleven, how i love that franchise, so it makes me really happy!

Mahal Kong Pilipinas by JMara makes me a bit sad cause it really represents what my country has faced tbh, i love my country and so i aspire to be part of the government hehe

its GOTTA be Heaven Can Wait by Michael Jackson cause man, that song is too groovy...and it reminds me of my crush? XD

i had quite a mix of opinions on 14 by Silent Sanctuary, i hate it, then i liked it, then i didnt want to listen to it, then i love it, now its my favorite!

people keep on saying that Malice Mizer is overrated, and i agree with it to an extent -_- look, its popular IF you're in the visual kei space, other than that no one knows them except for like, tiktok people with some of their popular songs

I LOVE TANBI KEI's FASHION AHHHHHHH! they look so elegant in their suits man it inspires me so much
