hi!!! my name is cosmo, this may be very unrelated to whatever else goes on in the forums, but i wanted to share a yummy cookie recipe that anyone could try out (or recommend to someone else if you aren't able to make such things on your own)!!
what you will need for the recipe;
- 1 stick of salted butter. 113 grams for scales! (be sure to melt/soften this butter!! it either work, but if you don't do this, your cookies will take a lot more effort to mix everything together, you might have to work with your hands if you dont!)
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 1/4 of packed brown sugar (be sure its REALLY packed into whatever youre measuring things with! it is pretty crucial surprisingly with something so small)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, about 6 ounces!! (6.75 to be more precise with it)
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (you COULD as well use baking POWDER, though it's preferred with baking soda!), be sure to DISSOLVE your baking soda in hot water before adding!
- 1/4 teaspoons of salt, you can always add a little extra if you feel it's too little!
- and 3/4 cups of chocolate chips (any type of chocolate works, or any other yummy item you'd like to add) (you could also bake WITHOUT the chips im sure... and then you could decorate the cookies however you'd like!)
it's best to gather your ingredients all at once as to make the process very quick... plus it's really convenient when you dont have to scavenge around to find everything one at a time! it's even more convenient to have everything in a bowl and ready, but the downside is that there will be more dishes to tend to, so do it however you'd like ^_^.
instructions!
1. be sure to preheat your oven to 350 degrees!
2. microwave your butter for about 40-50 seconds, do it a bit longer if you feel the need to!
3. beat together your butter and both of your sugars until your mixture is creamy!
4. add vanilla and the egg and beat those together with the mixture as well. (don't beat your egg for TOO long... your cookies will most likely come out stiff.
5. add flour, baking soda, and salt, mix these together until your mixture seems to be crumbles.
6. add your chocolate chips/or whatever it is you're adding into the mix, and mix them together with the dough.
7. roll the dough into your standard ball shape and place them on your tray (preferably with some parchment paper, unless is non-stick!) you can make as many as you want depending on your tray size, though it's likely you will have some leftover dough!
8. bake for about 9-13 minutes depending on how you want your cookies done (going from soft and chewy, to crispy and crunchy, around 11 minutes would be crunchy but chewy i believe!) overall, bake until your cookies are puffy and golden around the edges. (if you're unsure if they're baked through all the way, take out a test cookie from the batch and break it in half! it's easy to tell if a cookie is properly baked on the inside)
9. let them cool on the tray or a wire rack for about 20-30 minutes, they'll be delicious afterwards...
if you have any questions let me know! i hope you liked my recipe even if it's not related to the topic of this group... have fun! ^_^
