why does society grow to gravitate towards plain minimalistic design? even my mother who is older has began to make our house more empty and have less color. is there like, an actual reason for this? even 2-3 years ago there was a bit more uniqueness in "basic fashion". also, why do so many people call everything that is black emo??? its so annoying lol

my guess on the minimalism thing is that people or brands are just cutting corners in any kind of design, trying to bring out a made up "trend" of making things minimalistic to try and seem modern, but in reality it's just so they can hire less talented people to make the designs.

brands started to be more minimalist because it was easier and some companies didn't wanted to be more minimalist and "easier to look at", so basically almost every single app ( and companies in general) started slowly shifting towards minimalism, i feel you cuz i hate it so much, everything feels so souless and white.
