Many times we give up on things too quick because we are not an expert from the very first time we try. We live in an instant gratification society where we want everything right now including success and sometimes even the level of perfection. When we don't get that immediately we give up, call it impossible, say it wasn't meant for us, numerous other excuses.

The fact is that every new adventure we take on, we enter as a beginner and we should not let our pride diminish the fact that we have begun something new. I read a story a few days ago of a 50 year old, 6 foot tall, 200 pound man who started his first night of karate. He was standing next to a 5 year old little girl who was also there for her first night. At that moment, in that craft, they were on the very same level of proficiency. He said it was a very humbling experience. But if he quits that night and she stays with it, then eventually she is a pro and he is still an amateur.

It has to do with commitment. Nothing embarrassing about starting, but what will we do with it? Will we let pride kill a dream? Will we let immediate "failure" keep us from doing something great. The things that God calls us too are above and beyond what we are capable of in our own human abilities. He calls us to greater things that require us to trust in and partner with Him in to get accomplished. If pride and ego stop us when we fall short, we will never accomplish anything big, we will never fulfill what is truly inside of us. In those times, lean on the One who created you and put those dreams inside of you to begin with.

NEWS FLASH! When you start something new, there will be times you come up short, but you don't actually fail unless you quit.

Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.
