Oh, I love vampires so much, so I think that I may be a little help. :)
From classics, I would say - read Carmilla, it's a short story/novel about lesbian vampire.
Empire of the Vampire is a new series, it's little bit harder to read as the English is trying to be really artsy, but it explores interesting ideas about faith in some fantasy land. You could also say that it is a reverse 'Interview with the Vampire' (which I didn't read, sadly, so I do not know if it's good or not) as a vampire is interviewing a vampire hunter.
The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas is also interesting one, but I do not know if you can get it as I was given copy which was found outside for free.
Please read Trinity Blood! It's series from Japan, and sadly not all books are available in English, but you can get some fan translation on the Internet. It's in a post-apocalyptic world and the main character is a vampire who feeds on other vampires.
