For me, the best part of being in the anime circle is going to the anime convention ★
It's a fun place if you have income and sometimes you leave without income! Spending isn't required either. cons can be enjoyed purely socially or for entertainment.
Panels, arcades, announcements, anime music, Vtuber meetups, cosplay photography, cosplay/community meetups, trading card areas, weirdly expensive food, the exclusive maid cafes, the forbidden 18+ section, vendor booths and who can forget-- artist alley! The atmosphere is electric in a con.
What's your favorite experiences in an anime convention?
I have four!
1. Going to an anime convention with a cheap entrance fee and seeing artist alley!
2. Seeing the English Voice Actors for Jojo's bizarre adventure's Giorno Giovanna (Philip Reich) and Billy Kametz (Josuke Higashikata) fight each other in super smash bros U at a panel!!
3. Taking pictures of cosplayers dressed up as funny meme characters or your favorite characters and admiring their craftsmanship continues to be a free and budget friendly way to enjoy a convention especially when your wallet is 0. I just politely ask if I can take a photo of them, then thank them after. Occasionally I'll ask if it's okay to tag them on social media so you they know that you loved their cosplay :D you can sort of connect with them also by talking to them about the show their cosplay originated from.
4. I joke a lot about Hatsune Miku being "my waifu" as an ex-vocaloid fan (I outgrew it but I still listen to The Greatest Diva album by Mitchie M) but when an amazing Hatsune Miku cosplayer that had waifu labeled on her showed up, my friends goaded me into a taking a photo with her and it was just amazing
