How i've started to go offline

So It basically all started two years ago in my First year of High school when my parents took away my phone because i was caught by my physics teacher using It in class. I was (and still am, atp i don't even complain anymore) only allowed to use it an hour a day. While It was really annoying (and embarassing) not being able to text my friends and only being able to talk to them in school or with the house phone outside of that one hour, i just had to suck It up and deal with It.

A couple months later when i was going through some stuff with my mom i found her old camera (a Kodak from 2008) and I was determined to basically resurrect It despite her telling me It was most likely dead after not being used for 14+ years. So i did some research on the tv's YouTube (i realised It was still perfectly functioning, since i thought the place where you put batteries was broken or something), i bought the correct battery format and finally turned It on. That camera held over 600+ pictures of when i was a baby/toddler because my mom lover taking pictures of me and It was some beautiful Memories.

Meanwhile researching on the camera, i stumbled across the 'anti-internet' side of YouTube and was immediately hooked. I ended up searching for flip phones but was unable to get one in my country and i can't do world-wide shipping. Now i'm looking for an MP3 player (reccomendations are welcome!) and I barely use my phone anymore, even during that hour.

wait thats so awesome! i'm also trying to start my journey on being on the internet less (well, more like trying to get off social media completely). i've been off instagram and snapchat now for almost three years (i sometimes check instagram but rarely do i stay longer than 5 minutes). my biggest achilles heel is trying to get off tiktok and switch to long form content like youtube.

the camera thing is a really good idea. i've been thinking of getting a digicam to take pics (im open to recs) and just post here instead of on typical social media. i'm hoping to completely detox from all social media in the future, but unfortunately it seems to be unfeasible right now because of how deeply ingrained society is to it... anyways, thank you for sharing!
