Neopets, anyone?

Neopets was THE reason I got online when I was a kid. I'd get on, do my dailies, feed my Neopets, play a few games, then get off because my mom needed to make a phone call. Life was so much simpler.

Over the years, Neopets got further and further out of date. Eventually you had to download a special browser just to play the games because they used Adobe. (which has been deactivated)

But in the last couple of years, they were bought out and are slowly being revamped. Slowly, but surely, they are being returned to their former glory, with a few modern perks.

I was never one of the cool people who kept their original accounts over the last two decades. I've had more Neopets accounts than I have had romantic partners LMAO but I would love y'all to add me to this Neopets account. Neopets has always been my escape when life became too overwhelming. I've always found myself going back to it during really tough times in my life. Right now I feel fine, but I wanted to get it set up and ready for when I'm NOT fine. Add me! Tell me your username so I know it's you. Let's bring back this part of the internet~

I loved neopets. i think i started on it in like 2001 or 2002 and my account was called typhlosiongirl4 or something like that (it's long gone). Even my 'newer' old accounts are gone now. I still occasionally log into my only existing account (that did not actually survive the purges but I was able to get back with the help of some extremely kind and diligent customer support ppl!!), but honestly it's just so shiny now and not the same... although, there is a new plot going on right now that I've heard very good things about, so now might be a good time to get back into it! I'm super busy at work but if it's still going strong in the new year I'm going to start it. I do go online every month or so to play games, which they have slowly be remaking since the Flash apocalypse.

To the people who don't know neopets; it was/is a virtual pet website from the 90s where you could raise up to 4 magical pets in a virtual magic world. You could train them in the battledome, read them books, feed them weird foods, and 'paint' them different colors or themes. And there were dozens and dozens of Flash games. It did move offline I think around 2003 when it had a 'moment'.. there was a magazine, trading card game, and happy meal or some such fast food toy situation going on. younger millennials often joke that it's the number 1 place that we 'learned to code' because you could customize your pets' webpages and there were basic HTML and CSS tutorials on the site.

edit- I added you? I think? Nothing happened

I love Neopets. It's so easy to get bored and just.... Leave.

I --somehow!-- managed to keep access to my original account. My pets are old as dirt, and still weak as fuck (dialup).

When I log in next, I'll add you!
