I feel like sharing some screenshots from my 6 year old server. It started as a Realm before it was migrated. Its just myself and a small group of friends. We've had probably 15 unique joins, but there are 5-6 of us who have been contributing to it the most. Its currently whitelist only. No protection mods in place, but we don't allow griefing [anymore] and try to preserve remnants of the early days, which results in random things like dirt towers being labeled as "historic" lol.
We have not played on it consistently. There are huge gaps of the old Realm being inactive. After being brought back at the end of 2024, this has certainly been the most active period of the server. The entire main town, called Moo Alpha, looks unrecognizable compared to last December. There are a few newer towns popping up, each with its own lore.
One of my favorite projects I've been working on is a rail network that connects all major locations on the server. It features junctions that allow riders to pick the direction to go, and the rail network has separate tracks for outbound and inbound. The rail network is branded similarly to major metropolitan rails like Chicago's CTA.
We have an image mod that allows users to link images to maps for easy signage, which you'll see in a couple photos below.
I've also been working on a locally hosted DocuWiki to try and preserve as much history as possible.
