Generative ai also uses a lot of water for cooling their data centers. The amount of water used TO TRAIN chatgpt's old model from 2020 used about 700,000 liters of fresh water. Considering how the use ai is becoming more normalized in the global market and our personal lives. I wouldn't be surprised if generative ai was using hundreds of billions of water in the next few years.
