for this one i decided to go with something that has been really bugging me lately which is the loud gargling noises my stomach makes in a quiet classroom. i've done many things to stop it and i've come to the conclusion its pyschosomatic. this is really cringe but i think it's because i used to be so quiet i would try and breath quieter, and so i'd breathe less and like. not take in enough oxygen... because it only happens in classes i'm not comfortable in lol. anyway it's super embarrassing so i thought i'd represent it with a biiiig gross mouth in my stomach. now i have reclaimed it i guess
i thought for a long time and i just don't love yumeshipping, i used to read a lot of self insert when i was younger but for some reason not anymore. thought i'd just draw a regular ship for fun, which i'd enjoy more than ocshipping also.
i took these two since kuran (sitting girl) was one of the characters i was considering for the selfshipping drawing. the girl on her lap is ichiko, and they're from inkya gyaru demo ikigaritai, which is a cute slice of life afterschool manga about them interacting with subcultures. it's written very recently, there's a chapter on sneakerheads, the occult, it's really great.
the media i am suuuper into right now is alien stage, as you can probably tell from day 11 and 5 hehe. there are many aus, including creator-made aus like college, band, highschool, actor, etc. i wanted to do genderswap college but i thought it would be more fun to adapt it to the uk, since the au itself is based off american college.
i based this off sixth form, which is uk school for 16-18, typically non-uniform. the popular girls usually go for joggers, trainers and a tank top, so i gave that to ivan as the "popular jock" archetype. i kept till basically the same because emo isn't that different over here.
i also struggle with drawing fem!ivan because he has a broad stature and that's really difficult to do in my usual artstyle, so i experimented, and it was really fresh, like, i loved the change. except the abs/pelvis bones/bellybutton dont ask me what happened there!!! the eyes and face shape and a few other parts are inspired by this youtube animator i can't find for the life of me.
