Messy breakup because wth

Let me give you the juicy details to my messy break up because he deserves to be ranted about on an online forum.

So this dude, let's call him A, was my boyfriend for a while. He'd been my best friend for about two years before we started dating so we already knew each other pretty well.

We started dating for a bit and it was pretty okay ig. Looking back on it now it was kinda shitty ngl. He started acting weird one week so I decided to reach out to him to talk because I don't like controversy stuff. He randomly broke up with me because he was "too worried about me". Mind you he had never made an effort to reach out to me and just straight up ignored me for a week. 

ALSO HE BROKE UP WITH ME OVER TEXT LIKE WHAT??

Even though we were together for only 4 months (we were kinda in a situationship before so more like 5 or 6) it really hurt because he was also my really close friend. 

So fast forward a few days, I'm talking one of my close friends about the situation because I was really distraught and it turns out HE HAD BEEN SAYING SHIT BEHIND MY BACK AFTER THE BREAKUP?? He said I was overreacting and that he didn't even care about me that much. He also said to "TURN OFF YOUR EMPATHY FOR THEM". 

Idk hearing that from my best friend (now ex friend), even if we weren't dating was really shitty. 

So I vent to my friends about the relationship, not going into details but I was uncomfortable in some parts and I felt pressured and rushed to do things (everything was consensual but yk). The people I'm talking to, I know won't spread it around or misspeak but there was one of A's friends that was listening in.

So I guess she told him that I was spreading rumors and trying to get him in trouble, when that not the case at all. He didn't even try to talk to me like a normal person he just texted me calling me a bitch and blaming me for everything. I ended up responding to him and then I blocked him because dude I was way too tired to argue with him.

I'm kinda over him now, I just wanna rant about him because he sucks- idk if he's over me though WHICH IS WEIRD BECAUSE HE BROKE UP WITH ME??

Whenever I'm around he keeps talking about a girl or a guy he has a crush on and talking about wanting to ask them out. I'm fine with him moving on and dating other people (even though in his breakup message he said he didn't want a relationship or to be romantic) but it just seems like a way to get me jealous or something. 

Another thing that makes me think he's not over me is because I talked about dating again to my other friend (mind you I was sitting away from him and he just happened to walk beside me when I was talking about it.) and he looked like he was about to cry after I said it. 

I feel bad but at the same time he's pulled this guilt trip and jealousy crap before and I'm done with it. Idk man breakups suck but friendship breakups suck more.

Sometimes I think to myself if I had done anything different if we would still be together or at least be friends but thinking about it now- I don't think I want to even be friends with a person like him.
