Day 6 and Day 7 !!!

Alright!!! The prompt for day 6 was musical!! I have wayyy to many favorite musicals to pick only one, so I decided to depict an experience rather than a single show. I was too shy most of high school to be on stage in our theater program so I always helped out backstage instead!

I have very basic sewing skills and would act as the costume repair/alteration department lol. Most memories I have of the shows my high school put on (which were really quite good because some of our students were SOO talented) are sitting backstage in our green room listening to the practice/performance while I managed the costumes :)

Tbh yesterday went totally off the rails at work and I didn't have the energy to finish the drawing I had started in the morning, which is why it's getting posted a day late lol oopsie, but when I pulled it back out today I found that I really liked the half finished look!! Something about being in the production process both in art and in theater blah blah blah lol :)

Okay and for day 7!!! The prompt was anime!!! I got nostalgic for this one too guys buckle in you should know me by now. LMAO

I did most of my anime watching in high school and you could find doodled anime characters all over my notes, with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure characters being the most frequent! I drew Josuke today because he's my favorite JoJo, and I tried to make the drawing in the old art style I used in high school. Bold, quick strokes that were inspired by JoJo's!! I included the panel I used for reference, although it's not meant to be a direct study!

the technique on the first one is so good??? the hair twirls, the fabric creases and the hands are really satisfying to look at!

ALSO i rlly like hearing the backstory and thought process behind these, it makes it feel like im watching an inktober video hehehe

tbh both sketches look really polished. josuke's expression is really well done. im probably biased but i like urs more than the reference img lol
