I am a baby witch/beginner and need advice on how to properly start

So, I am very eclectic and would like to start with books about the story of witchcraft and the herbal practices. Also, mind, dreams and intuition books could fit in too since I'm very intuitive and dream vividly. I need books recs that aren't the famous, diluted ones. I want to actually begin and not make some avoidable mistakes.

The hardest part of witchcraft must be the misinformation in the practice. I have been taking book advices from witch youtubers I follow. The only way you can tell the truth and the lie should come from reading alot. The more you read and search different sources, the more you'll lean on your path and figure out your own truths. Don't try to find books on the bookstore or the library. The best ones are always the hardest to find. So instead of taking your time searching for physical media, search on the internet. "oceanofpdf" should help.

I agree with Skylae. Of course, it never hurts to connect with and learn from other practitioners and see what is going on in the community, but the only way you are going to build your own practice in the most authentic and genuine way is to do the research yourself. If someone tells you "so-and so is like this," make sure you are (a) not taking their UPG as fact and (b) verifying with sources to come to your own conclusion.

I also recommend keeping a journal/incorporating some kind of daily expectation into your practice. Take notes on what you research, make note of certain things you see/experience, start practicing divination and recording the results, etc. Sometimes the best way to learn and make connections is by looking back at what you've already done/experienced.
