Introduction for this group!

Hi! I'm Salem! I'm 20 and use any pronouns. I've known about vKei for years but only really started listening to the music recently. I'm not picky in what I listen to, but my favourites are GOATBED, Senketsu A Ko-chan, gulu gulu, and Kaya. I enjoy any of Shuji Ishii's other projects as well.

I don't know a whole lot about the subculture yet, but I like the music I've heard and absolutely adore the fashion. Mana-sama is a huge inspiration to me in terms of fashion, but I think a lot of people say that.

Ive known about vkei for around the second year now and have been listening since like a year and a half ago.

Unlike Salem, i am very picky on what i listen to.

I was a metalhead and I discovered vkei through the Versailles MV for Masquerade. After procrastinating my research for a while, the first bands i listened to were Lyrica, gulu gulu and Neth Priere Cain.

Then i got into Laveil mizeriA and got interested in the old school vkei sound (aka kote kei).

One of my friends didnt really get the appeal and bullied me for liking vkei, just saying its just mediocre metal with makeup, but i think it has a very distinct sound that i cannot find a western alternative for. (IVE TRIED, STILL AM, HOPING TO BE LIFTED OF THIS CURSE.)

At some point i got super super super into Dir en grey, their Macabre album especially, cause it had a lot of experimentation and in general just had a unique sound that was exclusive to them.

Gauze by Dir en grey is also a VERY good vkei album.

Nowadays im either into kote bands (Metis gretel, Madeth grayll, Jakura, ect) or whatever sukekiyo (band with same singer as dir en grey) is cooking up..

The fashion is something i wasnt into at the start but i think its cool now and even incorporate it into my own image..

I've been into vkei for a few years now and my favorite band is ofc Malice mizer! Malice mizer is what got me into vkei and i take a lot of inspiration from them. (i love them so much!!)

Also when it comes to what kind of vkei I like I really enjoy kote kei but i listen to a bunch of other stuff too︎

Some of my favorites are: malice mizer (I especially love klaha era), vampire rose, versailles (I also like kamijos solo music) and jiluka.

Btw all of the people who so far have replied to this forum seem really cool!
