I'm going to be making a group dedicated to both, and maybe even a Discord server, too! I just want to make sure that people are interested in these niche(?) stuff.

I never knew their origins up until recently, but I remember seeing them back in the day and especially dug the Nijiura Maids designs. I had even made a little fan art of some of them which is pretty much lost to time now (probably not really but I'm too lazy to look for it and probably embarrassed by the quality haha).
I love gijinkas/interpretations of creatures, concepts, and objects. People get so creative with selecting and combining the core aspects of something and imbuing it with new life. If anyone ever wants to practice character design then try to create a character based off an object or nebulous idea. It's a fun way to stretch those creative muscles.

Hooray! Another OS-tan fan!
The OS-tan community is pretty active, especially on Reddit, but it's not as active outside of it. Sure, there are tons, and tons of reposts of art on Pinterest, but I highly doubt that the people reposting them actually know what they are and are fans of it. The same goes for the Nijiura Maids community, but on Reddit, they aren't even active there! And most people know it from MAIDCORE, which isn't really bad per se, I just prefer it when people talk about the actual characters. But to be fair, it's pretty niche. If you asked a random person on the street about it, they'd look at you weird.

Yay! I'm glad other people at least know about these silly characters. If you find them, I recommend to upload some somewhere. I can't find anything about the lesser known maids! It's all Yakui-san and Ozoi-san...
I love it when people gijinka-ify things, too! In fact, my beloved original characters are gijinkas, but they don't have the names of their objects anymore. Well, they do, but like, as a secondary name!

Oh no those were definitely the characters I drew. Dx I'm sorry for adding to the already overflowing pool. Maybe this means I should tackle some lesser-known maids and try to level out the playing field haha. The only other one I remember was one with wings for arms? I forget her name, but she was so creepy and sort of owl-like? There was something up with her eyes, I think.
That's awesome that you created gijinkas of their own! Are they available to see somewhere because I'm curious to check them out.
Unrelated but... how do you reply directly to an individual person? I don't see a way to do that on the thread unless I'm missing it.

1) It's fine! :D They're both amazing maids. The maid you're talking about is Yabai-san! And yeah, maybe you should. I'd love to see more art of, say, Kouryuu-san or Jorei-san. (Note: if you decide to draw them, I can give you images for reference if you'd like!)
2) Here's Bonesaw/Bennett! He's, obviously, based off of a bonesaw.

3) I just use the visual WYSIWYG Editor!

1. Ahh yes yes that was her! I love her design! And those other two would be real fun to draw. Kouryuu gives off Miss Koboyashi's Dragon Maid energy. Shoot me some reference pictures and I'll get to doodling some time.
2. Bonesaw definitely evokes his namesake, even down to the angles and sharp ridges. You could saw a bone with that thar person.
3. ... The whosiwhatsit editor? Dx

1) Yes! I love her design, too! ! And yeah, Kouryuu-san does give off Dragon Maid vibes. Especially with the horns and hair! Here's Kouryuu-san (the tall one):
and here's Jorei-san:
2) Thank you! I'm flattered. I love sharp edges! !
3) The editor used to make these forum replies! I just get the link of the replier, make the text bold, and do the rest. :D
