So... What are we gonna do with Android?

In September 2026, Android will not allow your device to install APKs made by unauthorized developers for supposed "security and customer protection", something that in my opinion is a cheap excuse simply to have control over what you consume, let's face it, everyone with their Android used Lucky Patcher, HappyMod, etc. with their hacked applications or pirated paid video games, that was something typical, but now Android will no longer allow that.

What pisses me off is not that you can't pirate anymore, but that several APK websites like APKPure or APKMirror will no longer work and will probably disappear. These web application stores not only contain existing applications from the Google Play Store but also old ones that today would not be accessible if it weren't for the fact that these websites make mirrors of all their versions, which, in turn, came to function as an archive of old versions that, in one way or another, would end up being lost over time.

I'm hopeful that there will be someone who doesn't like it and finds a way to root Android or make their own system ROM, although considering that Android is more restrictive with its source code at the same time, it may be discouraging.

Currently it mentions that ADB won't be touched, even though I don't trust that, I can usually just use the Install with Options app that uses Shizuku, or just use straight ADB install.

I've recently been trying to find out if Android emulators (like Bluestacks or MuMu) are going to be affected by this change. I've literally found nothing.
