I would say maybe the franchise of Chilla's Art. They're pretty good at making games about Japanese horror

Okay sooo guys, i did a lil research myself and found the following games:

Resident Evil Revelations and Dementium though they seem a bit too scary for me,

then Londonian Gothics and Theresia (both japanese games and I'm not sure how to get these games)

Zero Escape, seems like smth i'd rather play

then i also know that it's possible to play DDLC on the 3ds but i'd rather support the creators and play that on the switch

Games I already played but not completed: Ghost Trick (that ones veryy niche and fun), The World Ends with you, Corpse Party

Let me know if you find some more games or like very niche ones i missed!!

[Edit] I forgot to mention that there's also a Fatal Frame/Zero Escape spinoff called Spirit Camera on the 3ds, and you could also say the Castelvania games are dark but idk if those are scary since i didn't play them.

im pretty sure there's an english version of theresia. if ur 3ds is modded u just need a rom of the game to put in ur sd card and like nds-bootstrap or something to play it. zero escape is fun too, i've only played the 999 one but it's fun. not really scary imo but still good (the story/plot and some points in the gameplay can be seen as disturbing though). there is an unofficial ddlc port for the 3ds but u need to mod it to play it iirc 

Yeah, i have a modded 3ds but I didn't figure out yet how to install games if not from H-Shop (but thanks for your reply, i'm going to figure that out later (where do you guys find roms??))

And also yes, the DDLC port for the 3ds is not official but it is possible to play there.

i know some reliable sites for roms but idk if its against the tos to post them on spacehey since its kind of a legal grey area (even though theres really no effective way to get them anyways since nintendo closed the official h-shop and buying a physical copy would typically be crazy expensive since many consider them like collectives or whatever now). i could instant message it to u if u want though

If you like more tactic-centered games, Shin Megami Tensei IV might be interesting! I also like Creeping Terror, which is more of a survival game. 

Also, if you were able to figure out accessing games that are region-locked, I've heard good things about Back in 1995! It was only released in the Japanese e-shop though, so idk if you'll be able to find it. 

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask from the Legend of Zelda series both
have some pretty creepy elements, but the focus is a bit less on the
scary factor for them. I really love Majora's Mask, though, and it's the
scariest Zelda game imo :)
