honestly, i feel as if a lot of games have been forever sewn into my mind...
i guess the first one i'd start with is pac man world 2. my siblings had a lot of consoles growing up that i ended up inheriting (snes, ps2, wii), but i feel as if my earliest memories of playing video games comes from this one. i loved the snowy levels especially, because i thought the ice skating was so cool (never ice skated before since i don't live in an area with snow). i was probably the main reason the save file ended up dup losing like... a hundred lives..........
next up would be just. the wii, in general. but especially wii sports resort's swordfighting. that was my favorite mode as a kid, even though i was never particularly good at staying patient to make good hits.
and of course splatoon!!!!! it was one of the first games i got for myself on the first console i had for myself. i fell in love with it at first sight from videos on youtube. the idea of being a squid (and later octopus) kid, in paintball battles, and a completely new world... that was what drew me in particularly, new worlds. worldbuilding is one of the most important things of a game or media in general to me. i feel as if it's had the greatest effect on my mind out of all video games i've played; a lot of aspects of myself can be traced back to it. music, fashion, my own views on worldbuilding, my love of strategy-ish games...
i did notice there's a sort of pc focus in here, so i'd also like to add ferry halim's orisinal games and draw-a-stickman. my mom discovered them when i was super young and showed them to me. they're very peaceful corners of the internet for me now. small games to pass a little time. i feel as if draw-a-stickman especially had a pretty big influence on me in terms of aesthetics, i've always been nostalgic for that sort of doodle style in the late-2000s/early-2010s. no idea what it's called, but it's deeply important.
