Suggestions For Spacehey To Improve The Platform

Share what you would think would make this platform more of a success.

They need to make it where you can find people in your region. Filters for finding people on the "browse" page. Also, they need to make most recent forum posts to be on top. I feel like this site could make waves, but it needs to be more modernized. Myspace was great, but you can't succeed from the old platform style in a modern era.

when you visit the forums, there is an option to toggle between top posts and recent posts

so imo that aspect is already covered but

there is no option to sub and get notifs outside of the rss icon :o

so when you create a new post, nobody gets notified

you just have to go and see if there's new stuff there

would be cool to filter that too (i.e. to only receive new post notifs from friends)

thats bout all i can think of rn tbh <33

I don't want to speculate, but maybe this site is more of a cash grab than anything for "nostalgia".
I wish i could get in contact with the owners to help them with creative ideas, because i think this site could take off in this day and age. It just needs to be modernized. Obviously funding is an issue at this point, but if they get big enough, Ad revenue could help a lot with funding.

That's just my two cents.

Hey! Welcome :)

This platform is pretty cool, I wanna see it succeed too. I've had an account for awhile but I'm just now trying to get active and talk to people.

I think the UI is part of the charm and adds to the nostalgic experience, but there's certainly room for improvement. I think a big thing is image hosting and being able to upload pictures. But that would lead to a lot more hosting/server costs.

It's unclear where this project lies for the creators. I assume they have day jobs and this is just a side project of sorts. It doesn't need much to get up off the ground; what's here is already pretty nice.

IIRC they put most of their resources into developing the mobile app. Now that it's out, maybe they'll have more time to develop new features.

The creator isn't interested in improving it. He's added 0 features to add to the experience in the years since it's been up. Not even a music player, the most basic vital feature. He made a site that looks a little like MySpace and then abandoned it. There's nothing to do except edit your profile and post in forums. This place is nothing like MySpace and never will be unless it's sold to a real developer.
