Nostalgia bands

I don't know if you have any, but I have tons of goth and non-goth bands that first pushed me toward my current little paradise of darkness made of Tim Burton, 500 different goth subcultures, each more beautiful than the last, darkwave and black clothing. I'm talking about those bands that aren't necessarily goth that made you start listening to the kind of music you now adore and can't live without. In my case, it (mainly) was The Birthday Massacre. The atmosphere they create is fantastic. It's like feeling excited the first time you see a horror movie even though you know it'll scare you a little, reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, taking a walk in the woods at night under the moon with a close friend, rewatching The Neverending Story with a little brother or cousin, being afraid of the monster under the stairs or under the bed and dreaming of a fantasy and horror world that somehow makes you feel at home.
