Social Media brain rot

I’m doing it for real this time. I’m getting off of social media. I have downloaded this app called “beeper” which allows me to still access my instagram chats, I recommend it if thats one of the things holding you back!

I am so SICK of picking up my phone 20+ times a day to mindlessly scroll instagram reels or some shit. I am a person with so many hobbies, but I find myself reaching for social media instead. Gonna try to replace social media time with making art and music. I also suffer from ADHD and I think my dopamine reception is just totally shot. Anything that takes time or effort to enjoy/be good at feels so HARD. I want to be able to sit down and learn something or teach myself a new skill without my brain subconsciously yearning for the ease of an endless scroll of videos. 

Does anybody have similar issues???

i feel this. i've been trying to learn how to cook better, read more, excerise more. stuff that helps me put down my phone.

Oh absolutely. I’ve deleted most everything except Tumblr and Spacehey, and I’ve switched over to a flip phone. It’s so hard though when you’re used to so much input and go to nothing.

I feel you. Im trying to get off the freaking computer so bad, but my work is strictly related to sitting at computer and checking what's new in industry. I installed simple launcher on my phone and some web extensions for my browser to block ads, feeds from facebook and youtube ect so if i want to watch youtube i need to manually search for video, i block all auto recommendations, next videos, and all that. 
But most of all i started making longer walks with my dog without the phone, i just bought old mp3 player for music and i go for a walko for like 1-2hours listening to only music or just chilling without any electronic device. Its a peacefull life

Same ,i start read Novel and talk with family a lot ,play
badminton,sweep the home,go out side living with nature , write journal
,wacth tv ,take a nap
