- Wind chill
- All Conjuring movies
- Orphan
- Run
- Halloween movies
- Scream movies
- Fear Street Trilogy
- Happy Death Day
- Truth or Dare
Horror movies = comfort>>>scary
It takes a lot to scare me truly, the mind bending ones are much better than the straight up blood and gore imo, but i love em all. Plus I love watching short horror films on youtube... Crypt TV does some bangers.

I'm super glad I'm not the only one that thought of this one!
The Blair Witch Project will forwver be one if my all time FAVOURITE movies, it spawned a whole new genre and even after these years nothing has ever hit quite like that first movie — Not even any of the other Blair Witch movies!!!

The Witch
It's Robert Eggers, so how can you go wrong?
I like 'period films', and in this one the teen actors were BRILLIANT, and the Game of Thrones veterans playing their parents were good too.
But the best part was that I spent the first part of the movie wondering: "Is this just paranoia from religious extremism and severe isolate, or is something *really* going on?" Then it dawned on me. "Oh, wait! It's BOTH!"
"Woulds't thou like the taste of butter?"
Yes please! Sign me up for some butter, dang it!
Also really dug Midsommar. But it's really a breakup film disguised as a horror film :)
Great part about that one? There really aren't any dark shadowy scenes, it's all brilliant sunlight. Not really any jump scares, the horror is just ... happening ... in a creepy disturbing way :)
I book end this "folk horror genre" film with the original Wicker Man with Christopher Lee

KAIRO (Pulse) IS A MASTERPIECE! I think it might be one of my favorite horror movie so far! it's about the isolation issues present in the japanese population through the newcoming of technology and internet, it's a deep visual depiction of all these issues and the sound in this movie is incredible!! some scenes are iconic (you might have seen the famous video of the ghost approaching the camera in a very weird walk), anyway this movie is really cool, go watch it!

nope is like regardless of genre the best movie i've watched. i'm pretty numb to horror, but it genuinely scared the shit out of me, i was so tense that i could physically feel it for like more than half the movie. it's also just so masterfully made? like the insane attention to detail and the way everything just clicks and the way themes and concepts are represented is like. beautiful. i honestly don't know how to describe it it's genuinely peak fiction to me
a record of sweet murder (tw for a rape scene in this one in case anybody wants to watch it) which is a horror movie though i would say it is not scary at all it's just insanely interesting to me. i randomly ponder about this movie all the time. it's probably contributed to by the fact i watched two movies by this director consecutively beforehand but the ending sort of blew me away. i like it less for the actual content and more how it made me feel, i have never spoken to anyone who's watched this movie before so i don't know if that's an actual experience people have with it or if it's just me.
also it's incredibly dedicated to being found footage, the whole movie is basically all one continuous shot and in basically one room. can be boring but i always am interested in movies where they have a small amount of characters stay in one small room/area the majority of the duration since then it really is a pure test of how well or not the creators can actually write since they can't rely on anything to cover up the actual quality of their work
