The ring for sure. That's the only movie that scared the fuck out of me
Though I have a huge love for psychological horror movies anyway. I would actually tie the ring with hereditary though. Both was way to good.

I'm a big fan of found footage films and the Blair witch will always be a favorite.
I also really enjoy home invasions movies, I think because it's my biggest fear. The purge, you're next, the strangersย

Oh man, I spend everyday watching horror movies, so I have a lot of favorites. It moves from Final Destination to Evil Dead. But I think I most like the Rec movies. The amount of blood and gore, and the characters aren't cardboard cutouts. I may have to read the whole time, but I'm used to it.

The Blair Witch Project. Heather Donahue is known for one performance, but god what a performance to be known for. She is incredible. The fact that what was an improvised art house indie film became as big as it was is crazy to think about.
Alternatively The Seventh Victim. Same screenwriter as Cat People, lots of lesbian subtext. The most sympathetic devil worshipers to ever be on film. Incredible movie, and while Cat People is more oft remember, this is a true classic.

I only recently came to make this call for myself, but I think my favorite horror movie of all time is Midsommar. It's not traditionally "scary" like a lot of my other favorites (The Shining, It 2017, or even compared to Hereditary) but it's so deeply uncomfortable and emotionally draining... and to me, that's just more evidence it's a perfect horror movie (for me).

I absolutely loveeeeeeee scary movies. Especially the nostalgic 90s to early 2000's scary movies. For example, all the Scream movies, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. I feel like those movies bring back all my child hood memories. What a time to be alive back then.ย
