Hi! When it comes to specific songs I'd recommend, I'd say "Miss Ann Thrope" by My Ruin, "99" The Haunted, "Red Flag" by Kittie. If you like those songs you might like the albums/bands :)

Some of these might be a bit "metallica emo stuff" like, but I'll just recommend a bunch: Ghost, Bring Me The Horizon, Youth Never Dies, Poppy, Linkin Park (?), Limp Bizkit, Spliknot, System of a Down, Disturbed, Adrenaline Mob, Kamelot.
In terms of subgenres maybe check out Nu Metal. And progressive metal, it's so cool! (Sithu Aye, Intervals...) Also alternative metal, which kinda overlaps with hard rock sometimes, with bands like Shinedown and Starset and Seether(also a bit post grunge)

If you wanna get into death metal, check out Nile's "Annihilation of the wicked", lashed to the slave stick was my gateway song into death metal when i was in High school :)
