I haven’t purchased anything yet and am currently in the research phase, watching videos and asking for tips on forums like this. Somethings I need help with are
- How long should I interact with them for each day?
- Do they need 12 hour day/night cycles?
- What foods are best?
- What substrate is best?
- What cage is the best?
- What rat treats/occasional snacks are best?
- How do I bond with my rats?
- Who do I adopt a rat? Where from? (Near Tyler or Dallas, Texas if possible.)
- How can you litter train rats?
- Should I get multiple females or multiple males? What’s the difference between the two?
- How can I make or buy a tray for their substate?
- Is fleece dangerous (I’ve heard ferrets may try to eat the fleece)?
- Do I need to bathe my rats frequently?
- How much do they smell? Could I keep them in my room?
- What should I avoid?
- Anything else I need to know?
