Idk what counts as unpopular but stain the canvas!! They’re amazing I really want to see them live sometime but They’re from Italy and I live in Canada (╥‸╥) all of their songs are in English tho so still check them out even if you don’t like songs in different languages ( > 〰 < )♡

Froglady. They do mostly pop music and a lot of their current influences come from their time at jazz school. Love Games is probably my favorite album by them, banger after banger. Definitely an album with no skips for me.

Pine and Fire, its a punk/folk band. I actually know one of the members families, that's how I found them. Saw them perform live at a coffee shop lol :)
Also SYM1 which is a, "Eurodance and hyperpop adjacent pop artist" saw them in person as well and omg they were genuinely so cool
Arctic Flowers is also super good, their a Punk Rock band
Sophia Rose Sitran has some banger songs
Chose all these based on how many monthly listeners they have on Spotify rn. Pine and Fire has 1,454, SYM1 has 2,699, arctic flowers has 838, and Sophia Rose Sitran has 38
at least as of Rn

Those Poor Bastards is my favorite band. If you're into Gothic country, you definitely know who I'm talking about, but they're pretty unknown outside of that. They used to do tours and collaborations with Hank 3 if you need more convincing.
Steaming Wolf Penis on the other hand is so bad that they got banned from playing in certain places.
Death Piggy is GWAR before GWAR was a thing. Never hear anyone talk about em, but they might be popular for all I know. There's plenty of their songs that aren't seen online if you're looking to find some lost media. Rip Dave
The Pine Box Boys is another Gothic country band that you wouldn't know unless you listen to the genre. Great story telling and solid sound.
Slim Cessna's Auto Club fits into the "you wouldn't know if you don't listen to the genre", but they're more of country rock and their lyrics sound like they should make sense, but they don't.

Solya, not super small but I feel like she's gonna get crazy big soon. To me her sound is kinda like a mix of Strawberry Switchblade and Lana.

If you're into prog rock, I'd highly recommend VOLA. Their members are Danish and Swedish, all of them are incredibly talented! Very strong driving songs with well-tambered vocals. I'd say some good songs to give them a try would be Head Mounted Sideways, Ruby Pool, and Smartfriend (my favorite!). They're also releasing a new album soon, there's already a single from it called Break My Lying Tongue. Great stuff.

4 позиции бруно (4 position bruno) - experimental electronic music, idm and post-industrial
твоё нежное безумие (your gentle madness) - electropunk
нежное это (it`s tender) - fun, toy-like and little weird electronica
All these projects are from Russia and (in my opinion) deserve attention

here are some cool smaller bands i listen to....
Tuscadero: its a nice band that kinda has a Plumtree vibe?? I wanna say its indie rock but i could be wrong. Anyway, they're super underrated!! BD
You'll Never Get To Heaven: they're super different from the first band, i'd say the music they make is ambient pop. They're also alot more popular... last time i checked, they have like 300k listeners on spotify... But anyway, their music is perfect to fall asleep to, its soooo calming!!!!
sugar plant: another ambient/dream pop band, but less popular. I think the band's japanese? Their music is another really good choice to put into your sleeping playlist if you have one. I really like their song "Turn It On" B:0
idk is these are considered underground but they def arent mainstream at all

i have never ever ever heard anyone talk about the bad doctors before, which is such a shame because i rly love their music!! they've got about 15 songs up on spotify, but stopped posting music as a band in 2016, and from what i can gather, they've rebranded (?) under the name vivatape, which also stopped in 2016, after they posted one song on soundcloud. do check em out if u like rock with insane synth solos!!!!!!!!!
here's my top 3 songs from them!!!
1) the school of athens
2) prism, mirror, lens
3) metamorphoses: phaeton

Love the band Sisyphus Defeated! They're a folk punk, emo adjacent band. They have a couple songs on streaming platforms, highly recommend Ghosts! I've seen them live a couple times, and they're such a sweet band. Would love to see them get more listens!
