They’re not really underground as they have a good amount of listeners on Spotify, have been nominated for a couple awards in the past and even toured in the US and UK but I find it hard to come across people who also listen to/are a fan of Nightmare Of You!! They have such good bangers; my personal fav is I Want to be Buried in Your Backyard :)

I’m not sure exactly how uncommon this is but I love UtsuP
It’s a Vocaloid that makes metal music. Each song is sang by a Vocaloid such as the more popular ones like Hatsune Miku to the less popular ones like Megpoid.
It’s pretty cool to hear Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloids do metal screams. My current favorite song by UtsuP is Corpse Attack.
There are also very occasional times where UtsuP himself will sing, but it’s rare.

I love going to thrift stores and buying CDs based entirely off the cover art. A few years back I found this really cool math rocky, post punk album by a local (Toronto) band that only released one album in 2009, before breaking up shortly after.
The band was called Arietta, and the album, Migration.
The band was never able to make it big, despite fully deserving it. This is a link to their only music video, but you can find their music still on Spotify and iTunes. I recently contacted the band members because I found they had music listed on their old website that I couldn't find anywhere online, but none of the guys still had the old CDs. A Shame.

meira asher - spears into hooks - absolutely incredible artist but highly highly underrated and barely known will reccomend to anyone into industrial and/or noise
Glenn branca - the Ascension - for those into sonic youth, Glenn branca was a huge influence to them and the scene they came out of (New York's no wave scene). reccomended for those into noise rock and experimental music
mindflayer - it's always 1999 - I don't know much about this artist but their work is highly enjoyable, reccomend to people who like noise and strange electronic music
young marble giants - collosal youth - the album our managers venue is named after so it has to be good, a highly influential trio band comprised of very stripped back production, reccomend to fans of lo-fi and minimalism
pussy galore - sampler - one of the greatest noise rock albums ever made, dick Johnson is a real highlight and a song so good it should be studied in primary school, reccomend to anyone with a somewhat open mind when it comes to music

a lot of my music taste fits into this post, but some I'm into in particular currently:
- lucid planet (also natas and tratas; they're basically the same). some very good guys from melbourne who make some trippy psychedelic prog rock. their second album even has a rave song (organic hard drive! here is a timestamped link of the irl rave at a lucid planet gig. insane. small flashing lights warning though)
^ lp also said I have a "very powerful voice" in a facebook comment so they get all of my love rn
- RISHLOO (my alltime fav band). more trippy psychy prog rock from seattle that feels like an alice in wonderland adventure. I've spent a third of my life in the throes of this band and I'm dying to see them live despite their inactivity and the fact I'm on a different continent entirely
- mire. the best prog to come out of canada as far as I've found. their singular album is very very tool-y to the point I can pinpoint specific songs and riffs they almost directly stole from tool but I love them regardless. mantra cymatic is a hit
- jericco. more prog guys from melbourne. their self titled album is nuts, my favs on it are 'always' and 'home'. home is a nine minute insane little adventure, after which you get the super atmospheric little outro track dahab, that makes you want an oud
- divine ratio. these guys might be from nz but I'm not entirely sure, just going off the fact they have a song called new zealand sky and some vague voice samples somewhere on their album LOL. just some more proggy stuff here as usual
this was an incredible ramble !!! enjoy

junodream: Radiohead meets coldplay kinda feel
the Weakerthans: beautifully written lyrics and storylines unusually beautiful guitar riffs. space jane meets the smiths meets carseat headrest
frightened rabbit: heart-retching lyrics with simple but comforting melodies
deep focus: young artists, beabadoobee type chords, so soothing, beautiful arpeggios
Regionals: slowly slowly and basement sounding, mid 90s punk/emo influence

The northern boys need a lot more support, they are more funny than like musical but I love them.
Also deep focus is so good I saw them live at a youth music festival once and their songs are so calm and kinda happy and very soothing
Junodream is also really good it’s kinda like Radiohead meets Coldplay, they have gorgeous and unique chord progressions.

Im gonna put some artists and then some songs u should check out by them :3
Cherri volterra- tapeworm, adhesive
These songs are kind of the vibe of like motion sickness by phoebe bridgers. (Theyre also the only songs out, but theyre supposedly releasing an album before they split up to go to college)
Blue smiley- idk, flower, spin, flip
Some of these songs are only instrumental, but the vocals are super good. Hard to explain but kind of like alex g and duster mixed together.
Eiafuawn- no more like that, the coffin was so light i thought it might blow away, the voice of music, drunk pilot and the romantic passenger.
This is similar to blue smiley but alot more like alex g and alot more singing i really love it alot its great winter music.
Eiafuawn and Blue smiley might not be the most underground but theyre suuper great regardless and ive never seen anyone else who listens :p But cherri volterra is a band at my school full of super cool people and i actually am obsessed with their songs. They have 80 monthly listeners atm, fix that ong!!! :333

No, Really/Hannah Sheehan (she's all I ever blog about anyways lmao) - she described herself as mostly folk music and made some amazing tunes in '07. personally speaking, her music kind of struck an emotional chord in me. although i'm sad to say she hasn't done much with music since 2016

Evergreen Terrace - Pretty good post-hardcore/metalcore band. Kinda sounds like a watered down Poison the Well but they're their own thing aswell
Kurtizány z 25. avenue - Old school post-hardcore band from Czechia. They sound a lot like Helmet but super solid overall
Skywalker - Czech post-hardcore/trancecore (yeah you can really tell I'm big into post-hc lol) band. Really solid for crabcore
Chimaira - Okay these guys aren't that obscure but still super underappreciated, these guys were incredibly good and made brutal metalcore
Nothingface - Not obscure within the nu metal enthusiast community but still underappreciated. If you want hardcore infused nu-metal these guys are good
Apartment 26 - British industrial/nu metal band (second album had elements of jazz and swing strangely enough), pretty underappreciated even if not that great tbh
36 Crazyfists - Alaskan melodic metalcore/post-hardcore/screamo/nu metal act, this is the type of music that can only come out of Alaska

I have yet to hear a bad track by him. He has done the scores for several movies, along with releasing his own music.
For those of you who are terminally online, you might have heard his music in those memes of sped up videos of cats "making bread".
Or you might have instead watched the movie Hereditary and heard the most recognizable song: Reborn.
And I think he's doing the soundtrack for Junji ito's anime: Uzumaki.

Atrax Morgue: Death industrial. Dude killed himself. Depressing shit. Overwhelming atmosphere. Great background music imo. Atrax Morgue- Slush of a Manic Full Album Individual song uploads are hard to find so here's a full album.
Consumer Electronics: Power electronics. Song by them plays on my profile. Sex Offender Boyfriend- Consumer Electronics
Five Starcle Men: Vaguely alien abduction themed noise band. The guys were DXM (cough syrup) freaks. Really strange and amazing to listen to while high. Five Starcle Men- Pizza Hut Families

High Five Spaceship - Experimental British indietronica; primarily a collaborative effort among about 5 people. Takes influence from a lot of prog rock bands of the 80s.
Cut Copy - Mid-late 2000s Australian indietronica, though still releasing as recent as 2020. Pleasant dance beats, warm feelings abound.
The Boomtown Rats - late 70s/early 80s Irish protopunk. Most well known for the song I Don't Like Mondays and the organization of the Live Aid charity concert. Often takes a leftist political swing.
