I visited Vancouver, BC this past May and couldn't help thinking of Cyberpunk 2077. The downtown area has many interesting and amazing super modern, and futuristic looking highrise buildings. Their architecture was unique and awesome.
Walking between gastown and Chinatown to Stanley Park was a joy for my eyes. The contrasting styles sometimes very nearby reminded a lot of Night City. Especially some sketchy areas by Chinatown and Granville street with some shady characters openly lighting what looked like crack pipes with torches lol! I really dont know what it was, but it was very visible and these people didn't really make any attempts of hiding it. Some of these folks looked liike they could have been homeless just laying down on the street and sometimes doing this very distinct leaning to one side slow zombie walk. Very strange.
Other than that Vancouver was pretty kool. it didn't really bother or take away from the experience as these people didn't mess with us or cause any trouble. So back to my main point, the moderate sketchiness and modern architecture with the highline monorail train made me think I was walking in some areas of Night City from the videogame Cyberpunk 2077. Very surreal.
Next I would like to visit Chongquing in China. That place looks mindblowing and cyberpunk AF. Has anyone been there or Vancouver? What places or cities do yall consider cyberpunk or just reminded you of any videogame or movie?
