Is adulthood boring?

Forum: Life

I imagine it as work->home and cycle repeats except very rarely having interesting events in between. And then retirement is even fucking worse because you basically just watch your physical and possibly mental health slowly deteriorate while knowing that your family are gonna have to bury you real soon

For me it was always school-home cycle because i lived in a small and religious town. My university life is def better than those 17 years i spent. I love the feeling of indepence when i'm out of my hometown. Only downside is I'm worrying abour rent prices and the overall life expenses.

it's definitely what you make of it. you have to chose to do something out of routine. you have to reach out to people. do research on local events. meet new people.

I think it's all about what you make of it. And you know, being an adult doesn't mean you have to stop having fun in your free time, unlike what television may suggest.

Like what others said, it's really what you make of it. Take care of your health and push yourself to do things out of your routine, try new things or go to events even if you don't have anyone to go with. Be smart with your spending so you can afford experiences that matter to you (don't waste it all on eating out and coffee everyday)

I see lots of adults getting depressed because they just work, watch tv and order takeout.

There's gonna be tough times, I'm not someone with many friends but I still go alone to concerts, movies, the bar, vacations and worked on really feeling comfortable on my own which I think is important! & I've made friends along the way!!
