The Evil Genius trilogy is an insanely unpopular Australian scifi (?) book series for teens written back in like 2005. It's about a kid named Cadel who's a super genius and he goes to evil college. It's got:
-Inherently strange narrative (12 year old goes to evil college)
-Everyone is named something ridiculous (Thaddeus, Wanda, Gazo, etc.)
-Riddled with insane plot twists
-Insanely ableist at times
-Can't decide if its scifi, fantasy, or both
-Not poorly written, but could have made better use of its plot at any point
If more than 4 people cared about this book series, it would be super controversial imo.

Bubble World by Carol Snow, it’s a YA novel with simple writing with slang that’s cringey at times but I really enjoy the themes of living in a virtual “utopia”, simulations, leaving children chronically online
