studying welding

Hi to whoever reads this!! Im starting a new school tomorrow and will be studying in a welding program, is there anyone here who can give me some advice about the welding itself and what to expect when you are a woman in a male-dominated job and classes? I will be appreciating it a lot. 

And sorry if there is something that you don’t understand in my post, English is not my first language and i will try to explain if needed.
