I've never been to America so my perspective has always been through movies and Youtube. I am really intrigued by American nostalgia.
My schools from childhood were always just square boxes with brick walls. I was born in 2001 but we always used physical notebooks instead of phones even in the later years of HS. Only at Uni/college were electronic devices expected. It was so cool for everyone when one of the classmates brought one of those phones with keyboards to class. I never had one until I was about 13, it was just for calling my parents in case of emergency but I used it to listen to ringtones all the time lol.
Or that time when my friend got a room makeover. It genuinely looked like this.
But it was just green and white and bubble patterns on the walls instead of this. And a lot of colorful translucent devices like alarm clocks and such. I was so jealous, it looked like he lived on a space ship lol. My room was a tiny one at the top floor right under the roof, so sometimes during rain it would leak on me while I was sleeping lol.
Or those days of Skyping my friend and then play special force/soldier front together. And we'd often go to the forest to play and pretend to be ninja lol. We always went to Judo and then drank soft drink together on our ride home in the dark, playing in the snow. I miss that time so much lol.
When it comes to America I am imagining the things below here. I imagine that people go by Bus to a huge building and that they are encouraged to do American football and cheerleading. And I do think it is an almost universal experience to be in the car ride and beg your parents to go to the McDonalds lol.

Were American elementaries like this?
