i’m not emo, i’m scene but my friend is interested in like the emo subculture so i wanted to get some input on the music! like recommendations! also maybe tips for newbies! whenever i go on google & search “emo music” i js get tx2 & rebzyyx shit so i figured this would most def be better

ok so it depends on what kind of emo you're looking for cuz it can mean a lot of different things, if you wanna get into the popular stuff some of the really popular emo bands are fall out boy (i'd reccomend from under the cork tree), my chemical romance, & paramore!! if you wanna do more post hardcore/older emo rites of spring & cap'n jazz are pretty important, sunny day real esate is pretty good too.
taking back sunday, thursday, & jimmy eat world are all some of my favorites!! i'd say these are all considered """real""" emo (i hate this term but don't have a better one) but do lean into the popular stuff. i can give more reccomendations if you want them ^_^
