i just played Cry of fear and no other horror game, it was the best gaming experience i ever had, good gamplay and lore, also the scenarios is amazing.

Me and my dad used to play this horror game called the midnight game. I dont know if its still up or anything but i remember me and him getting it and playing it because Markiplier did a vid on it and me and my dad used to watch Markiplier religiously. If anyone knows where i can still find a download for it that would be great.

im playing through the 2nd game and trying to get all the endings. its sooo good the atmosphere and build up of tension is so well done. every choice makes me anxious because any slip up can ruin your whole run.

take the content warnings seriously but i highly reccomend checking it out :D

The Evil Within wins it for me. It's by far my favorite horror game ever. I think it's from the same studio that made Resident Evil, but they tried something different with this one. I don't exactly remember the reason they made this, but I'm glad they did!

Cry Of Fear is an absolutely amazing experience, if a little bit dated here and there (looking at you, platforming segments!!!). Really haunting atmosphere and good terrifying scares.

My absolute top 1 game is RE8 though, it expands on 7's first person view in such a good way and a lot of the criticism of 7 is fixed (such as variety of monsters and locations). Really fun in NG+ as well once you start getting unlimited ammo, it really turns the atmosphere into a really fun shooter compared with the more intense survival horror you usually have in your normal playthroughs. The sound in RE8 is literally nuts too, best sound design of any horror ever imo

There is a game on Steam called Lacey's Wardrobe, it's not a game per se, it's a fangame, but it's perfect, plus it has a very good story.

Probably no one knows this game but, Cry of Fear is the best horror game in my opinion.

Demonologist is pretty fun. I've been playing that a lot. It's essentially a grittier Phasmophobia, which is also pretty amazing.

"Cry of Fear"is such an atmospheric game. It reminds me of the days of the early Internet. And "Amnesia", she too.

I absolutely love FAITH and it's lore although I've never played it myself. I enjoy watching gameplays and much more theories and a breakthrough the story of the game itself. It's 8-bit/realistic animations really add the cherry on top :3

Unforgiving a northern hymn! I am absolutely addicted to folk horror, Maudaun was also really great an incredible amount of love was put in those games.

its the most best horror game i've ever played; it might be old but it still stands strong even scaring me to the point i started crying once, i absolutely love making myself suffer through the actual horrors of every game because its amazing, ive even read the comics on red barrel's website and their amazing! hell i even have outlast 1 on my switch just to play it whenever wherever because i love it so much

Voices of the Void is my current hyperfixation. It's great at easing you in and unsettling you. You work in a remote astronomy place and have to find signals from space, record them onto cassette drives, and ship them off to HQ for money. You also gotta repair servers and satellites when they go down. 

The horror slowly trickles in and doesn't immediately hit you with creepy stuff. It eases you into the loop of finding signals and getting repairs done. I don't wanna spoil anything so please play it for yourself. it's free!!! no excuses!!!!!

I probably don't have the MOST FAVORITE one, but I really like Rule Of Rose and Clock Tower

I also like Pathologic and Tension. These are not horror games at all, but sometimes they can be creepy (in a good way)

And now I'm replaying Silent Hill :))) good old classic :))

itch.io is a rlly good place to find indie horror games, thats where i get most of mine, i just played one called Bad Parenting and it was rlly good (kinda sad tho :/
